  1. Better late than never.
  2. Don’t reject a minor improvement because you’re waiting for a hypothetical perfect solution to arrive. (I’ve since learned of the phrase “Don’t let the best be the enemy of the good“.)
  3. If you love your data, set them free.
  4. If it needs a help guide, you’ve probably definitely got it wrong.
  5. If you assume your users are stupid, they won’t disappoint.
  6. RSS is non-negotiable.
  7. The ‘net interprets control as damage, and routes around it.
  8. Do it, then ask people what they think. Not the other way round.
  9. Show me pictures, or it didn’t happen.
  10. The answer to “…is Library 2.0 about technology or not?” is “Mu“.
  11. There’s always going to be more than one way of doing what you want to do. Relax.
  12. It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Or at least to phrase one so it sounds like the other.
  13. There’s no such thing as ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, only ‘better than the last time’.
